Frame-rate Not Resolution Matters

I came across this interesting article from The Verge the other day and it pretty much echoes my feelings on where console makers should be improving their systems. https://www.theverge.com/2017/6/20/15836204/xbox-one-x-true-4k-vs-ps4-pro-wrong-target

My experience in PC gaming where you can tweak your graphics a ton more than on a console led me to appreciate getting a stable and fast frame-rate over any amount of eye singing resolution. You don’t really need all those pixels on the screen if they’re only going to stutter by at less than 30 frames per second. Until console makers realize this I fear PC gaming will continue to rule the performance roost.
